Disaster Management Audio Materials for Community Radio Broadcasting was created by the Disaster Reduction Learning Center (DRLC) which was established by JICA (Japan International Cooperation Agency) and Hyogo Prefecture. Although originally created as educational material for the JICA Training and Dialogue Programs, it can also be put to practical use in many countries to prepare for disasters.
Disaster Management Audio Materials for Community Radio Broadcasting can be played on community radio stations, disaster wireless networks, announcement vehicles to provide the needed information including notices and warnings of disasters.
These materials can be used by community radio stations and governmental offices to know beforehand what information needs to be given to citizens when a disaster happens. They can also be used for community disaster prevention drills, etc. in order to be better prepared for disasters.
The audio materials can be downloaded and also be edited to suit the needs of each country and region.
